From Monday, July 1st, the long-running show’s hosts Alex Jones, Jermaine Jenas and Roman Kemp will all be removed from screens[/caption]

The move comes as the broadcaster paves the way for rolling coverage of Wimbledon 2024.

Clare Balding, 53, will front extended coverage of the world-famous tournament across the BBC One and BBC Two.

The veteran presenter returns to the airwaves as the likes of Novak DjokovicCarlos Alcaraz compete for one of the biggest titles in tennis.

Usually schedulers bump The One Show to BBC Two to air special events, but they’ve taken the decision to axe the format for this week.

From Monday, July 1st, the long-running show’s hosts Alex Jones, Jermaine Jenas and Roman Kemp will all be removed from screens.

The programme, which started nearly two decades ago, has already been a casualty of schedule shake-ups due to coverage of Euro 2024.

Beeb viewers are likely going to be left furious by the latest change to their TV guides.

It comes as three beloved BBC daytime shows have been culled from the schedule for Wimbledon.

Animal Park, Rip Off Britain and Escape to the Country have all been ditched today.

Coverage of the tournament will start at 2pm and will air on BBC One all the way until BBC News at Six.

Meanwhile, on BBC Two usual programmes have also been paused as Wimbledon will dominate the airwaves from 1pm until 10pm.
