Report: Spurs star will have a meeting with Postecoglou about his future

Tottenham fans may be starting to become sick of hearing the name Florian Manea as rumours start to swirl following comments from Radu Dragusin’s agent.

Radu Dragusin’s agent is a problem for Spurs

Spurs fans first become agitated by one of Manea’s comments about his client, Radu Dragusin, in early May where the agent took a shot at manager, Ange Postecoglou, explaining ‘the coach has said many times that he doesn’t want to play three’ going onto criticise the Australian ‘knows better, but he concedes a lot of goals for Tottenham’ (Calcio Napoli).

Dragusin’s agent was then pushed on the possibility of playing for newly appointed Antonio Conte’s, Napoli, he said ‘Conte is one of the best in the world, it would be an honour to work with him’ continuing by claiming ‘if a loan offer arrived from Napoli, with Conte there, it would have to be evaluated’.

It seems as though ever since Dragusin has pulled on a Lilywhite shirt, Manea’s mind has been on the Romanian’s next move, finishing his statement by admitting ‘when you work with someone like Antonio Conte, you learn on many levels’. Although, it seems as though the player himself is happy where at Spurs.

Dragusin is set for a meeting with Postecoglou

Despite contrary comments from his agent, Radu Dragusin has explained his delight at learning at Tottenham. In an interview with Diretta.it the former Genoa defender stated, ‘it’s a season that has gone very well so far’.

Dragusin, whose performances with group-topping Romania have caught the eye, has spoken about his contentment at Tottenham claiming, ‘I certainly grew a lot, and I went to Tottenham where it’s another world, where you just have to learn’.

The comments of the defender’s agents have perhaps already done their role of getting the rumours flowing in Italy.

Tuttosport (via Arena Napoli and Sport Witness) stated on Friday (28/6/24) that ‘we are waiting to know the outcome of the conversation between Radu Dragusin and Postecoglou’ before the now-linked Napoli make a ‘final decision’.

Dragusin showed in moments towards the conclusion of the Premier League season that he has the qualities of a top-level defender, only enforcing that perception with his outstanding performances for Romania so far in this year’s EUROs.

It is however frustrating to constantly hear about the defender’s agent speaking either negatively of Spurs or seemingly doing his best to attract interest from other clubs.

Manea is now in danger of damaging Dragusin’s popularity among Tottenham fans if his comments persist and perhaps should resist any further statements for his client’s good.
