India vs South Africa women’s test: World Record while thrashing South Africa

Indian Women Cricket team has made history. Indian team made highest ever score in Women’s test cricket match against South Africa. Indian team has left behind Australia’s record.

1) Indian Women’s Team makes highest score in Test cricket

Indian Women team made highest score of 603 for 6 wickets against South Africa in their first test match. This is the highest score ever made in Women’s test cricket. 2) Australia’s record broken

Australian cricket team, at the start of 2024, in February had made the record of 575 runs for 9 wickets. This marked as a record break for their own 26 years old record of 569 runs for 6 wickets. This February rcord was made against South Africa as well. Indian team broke this record in just 4 months by scoring 603 runs for 6 wickets. 3) Shefali verma’s Double century

Youth Cricketer of Indian team, Shefali Verma played a fabulous innings. She made a double century and scored 205 runs in 197 balls. She hit 23 Fours and 8 Sixes. 20-Year-old Shefali Verma , with her double century in 197 balls, now holds the record for the fastest double century scored in Women’s Test Cricket. Before her, Australian cricketer Annabel Sutherland had the record for the fastest double century in 248 balls against South Africa. After Former Cricket captain Mitali Raj, Shefali Verma is now also titled as the second Indian woman to score a double century after 22 long years. (Image credit- BCCI Women Twitter)

4) Smriti Mandhana Hit a Century

Apart from Shefali Verma, Smriti Madhana also played a spectacular innings. Smriti played an innings of 149 runs. She played 161 balls and hit 27 Fours and 1 Six. This is her second century in Test cricket career, this is her first time hitting a century in test cricket against South Africa. Smriti is now at second place for hitting the most amount of centuries for India in test Cricket format. She is tied with Hemlata Kala (two individual centuries). 5) Richa Ghosh, Harmanpreet and Jemimah also hit half-centuries

Indian Wicketkeeper-Batter Richa Ghosh missed her century and played an inning of 86 runs before she went back to the stands. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur scored scored 69 runs and Jemimah Rodrigues played an innings of 55 runs. (Image credit- BCCI Women Twitter)
