George Conway takes snide dig at Trump in plea for both candidates to 'retire'

George Conway on Monday became the latest to demand President Joe Biden retire — but he wants the Republican’s presumptive nominee to do the same.

But Conway, a Republican but outspoken Donald Trump critic, thinks Biden’s retirement should be a lot more comfortable than the former president's.

“In a perfect world, Joe Biden would be at Rehoboth and Donald Trump at Rikers,” he wrote on X.

In a series of tweets, Conway joined the chorus of voices demanding Biden step down after he stumbled through a debate with Trump Thursday.

"As I'm sure many of you have, I've been thinking a lot about the electoral choice we have in 2024 with more focus over the past few days, and I keep returning to a conclusion I reached a while back, but felt was not realistic enough as a scenario to be worth expressing," he wrote.

"For the good of the country and their own good, both of the major-party presidential candidates should retire."

“I can’t quite say all of that about Donald Trump, but I do think that he, too, deserves a pleasant retired life.”

He added, “Obviously he’d choose to devote some of that time to defend himself against the myriad remaining criminal charges against him. And that’s his right. But I nonetheless do wish him many comfortable years in retirement at a nice minimum-security U.S. Bureau of Prisons facility.”

Conway has, in the past, donated hundreds of thousands to Biden’s campaign for re-election.
