One beauty fan shared the recipe she swears by for a smooth complexion.

Commenting on a Reddit post, the unnamed user revealed the unexpected items that they use for their DIY skincare.

The poster offered some context on their skin type and the issues they have.

“I swear by a rice mask, as someone with extremely sensitive and problematic skin it just always works it makes my skin look so much clearer and cleaner,” they said.

The Redditor explained that the mixture “reduces oil production and makes my pores less visible and helps with my acne too and gives that nice glow.”

“If you don’t have acne scars, it will give you that glass skin,” they wrote.

The social media user explained how they make the homemade facial mask.

“Sometimes I overcook the rice specially for it and sometimes I just get a big spoonful of cooked rice from our daily meals and blend it in boiled water,” they said.

The poster pointed out that “unboiled water causes it to go bad quickly.”

For the next step, the skincare fan added a spoonful of honey to the rice.

They mixed the ingredients until the mixture was “completely smooth and looks sheer on application.”

“I just prefer it that way because it’s easy and less messy to apply,” they explained.

The Reddit user recommended applying the solution “after thoroughly cleaning your face and leaving it for 15 minutes.”

“Preferably don’t sit in front of a fan or else it will dry too quickly,” they advised.

For storage, the poster suggested keeping it in your fridge for no longer than a week.

“Side note, when you take it out of the fridge it may feel like a pudding,” they explained.
