AUSTIN (KXAN) — First responders reported a two-vehicle collision Monday morning that involved eight patients.

Paramedics said only one patient was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and the seven other patients refused transport.

According to Austin-Travis County EMS, the vehicle rescue was near Cypress Creek and Anderson Mill. The initial call came out at approximately 10:30 a.m. A second ATCEMS ambulance and Travis County are also responding.

ATCEMS said one person was pinned, but that patient was successfully extricated from a vehicle.

Cedar Park police said the westbound lanes were completely shut down, and the eastbound side had only one lane open.

ATCEMS said people should expect traffic closures and to avoid the area if possible.
