Marc Guiu writes emotional letter to Barcelona staff and TAXI DRIVERS after 18-year-old completes Chelsea transfer

MARC GUIU has penned an emotional letter to Barcelona staff after joining Chelsea.

The 18-year-old also thanked taxi drivers as he said goodbye to the Spanish giants after 11 years with the club.

Guiu completed a £5million move to Stamford Bridge on Monday, signing a five-year deal with the Blues.

Chelsea also have the option to extend his contract by a further year.

Following the completion of the transfer, Guiu took to social media to say farewell to Barcelona and thank their staff.

In an Instagram post, he wrote: “The truth is that I can only have words of thanks for the club that trained me.

“For this, I would like to thank the entire Barca family, coaches and coordinators, who have helped, taught and supported me so much.

“To the physiotherapists and doctors, for the attention and express recoveries.

“To the staff, educators, taxi drivers for taking care of me and for passing on values ​​that I will always carry within me.

“To the fans who encouraged me from the first day, thank you all; and also especially to each and every one of my colleagues and friends, for so many smiles and so many games we won together, some of them will always be my family.

Guiu first joined Barcelona’s academy as a seven-year-old, before progressing into the first-team.

He made his senior debut in October aged 17, scoring just seconds after coming on against Athletic Bilbao.

The teenage forward went on to score twice in seven appearances throughout last season.

Guiu also made his debut for Spain’s under-19 side in March and has three caps to his name.

He is Chelsea’s third signing of the summer following the arrivals of Tosin Adarabioyo and Omari Kellyman.
