S24 Apartment is a minimal apartment located in Düsseldorf, Germany, designed by VAUST. VAUST has preserved the apartment’s intricate architectural details, including ornate moldings and cornices, while integrating these elements with clean lines and sleek finishes. A monumental window now serves as a gateway to the lush garden outside, flooding the interior with natural light and creating a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. The design features an open-plan layout, connecting the kitchen, living room, and dining room to promote a fluid sense of interaction. In collaboration with GUSCH, VAUST curated a selection of art and design pieces that reflect the inhabitants’ sophisticated taste for unique and rare objects.

Key highlights include the striking ‘Dr. Sonderbar’ by Philippe Starck, complemented by iconic pieces like Shiro Kuramata’s ‘How High the Moon’ and Shigeru Uchida’s ‘Tenderly’ lamp. The living room showcases a table by Gae Aulenti paired with chairs from Mario Botta, creating a space that exudes both artistry and functionality. The art selection, curated in collaboration with gallery Meierbach, features works by artists such as Corey Mason. Embracing a minimalist ethos, the interiors are carefully curated to maintain a sense of serene tranquility and balance. Natural materials such as wood, stone, and metal are used to infuse warmth and texture into the space. Contemporary reinterpretations, including polystyrene stones, aggregate concrete tables, and polished aluminum mirrors, add depth and sophistication to the overall design.
