Harm reduction vending machines coming to North Country

GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Adirondack Health Institute's Rural Communities Opioid Response Program (RCORP) has partnered with several agencies to launch the installation of three harm reduction vending machines. They will be installed in mid-July.

These vending machines will allow those who use drugs to prevent overdose and infectious disease transmission, improve mental, physical, and social well-being, and offer easier options for accessing healthcare services like substance use and mental health disorder treatment. The machines will have Narcan, fentanyl test strips, xylazine test strips, wound care kits, and feminine hygiene products.

Everything will be free to use and available 24/7. They will be placed at Cambridge Public Library, Malone Behavioral Health Urgent Care, and Ogdensburg Wellness Center.
