Olivia Culpo Got Married This Past Weekend
She and NFL star Christian McCaffrey tied the knot at a church in Rhode Island.
Olivia Culpo and Christian McCaffrey are officially married. The model and San Francisco 49ers player tied the knot on Saturday in Westerly, Rhode Island. Culpo told Vogue that getting married in a church was McCaffrey’s dream and “our number one priority.”
Culpo said she sees marriage as “the beginning of the rest of your life — and it’s the union and bond of two people forever,” and that’s why she wanted a wedding dress “that felt as serious as that commitment.” The former Miss USA added that she didn’t want a dress that would “exude sex in any way, shape, or form.” Instead, she wanted a gown that would “feel effortless and as if it’s complementing me, not overpowering me.” She landed on a long-sleeved, crew-neck Dolce & Gabbana gown with a 16-foot lace veil.
McCaffrey and Culpo sparked dating rumors in June 2019 when McCaffrey liked one of her Instagram posts, per People. A month later, they were spotted holding hands on the beach in Mexico and eventually made their red-carpet debut in February 2020. Culpo and McCaffrey announced their engagement in April 2023.
Culpo previously dated swimmer Ryan Lochte and NFL players Tim Tebow and Danny Amendola. She told ET in 2022 that she made a “No athletes ever again” dating rule after her split from Amendola, but she broke the rule for McCaffrey because “he’s just the best.” She added, “I feel like he is really everything that I could ever ask for. I never have to worry about anything.”
