'Owning Manhattan' Star Jonathan Normolle Claims That Being Fired by Ryan Serhant Was His Plan All Along

Jonathan Nørmølle is making some claims about what really happened in the Netflix series Owning Manhattan.

The new real estate show follows former Million Dollar Listing: New York star Ryan Serhant as he leads his own firm. At the end of season one, Jonathan gets fired for a whole list of reasons, including tarnishing the brand’s reputation.

Now, Jonathan is claiming that he actually orchestrated his firing and that it was his secret plan all along.

“I had a plan because I was under contract with Ryan and all the sponsorships,” Jonathan told DailyMail.com.

“The only way I could get out of those contracts was if I got Ryan mad enough for him to fire me,” he continued. “And the only way I could do that is by saying all these things like; Ryan had done nothing when he was my age, whereas I have been on Forbes under 30. I made my first $100 million my first year in real estate. I was on the cover of Downtown Magazine, I was Rookie of the Year and I won most influential broker at Broker of the Year Awards.”

Jonathan added, “I went in on Ryan with all these things and he got upset enough to fire me on TV – and instantly these contracts were completely void.”

Jonathan even claims that Ryan had to beg him to be part of the show in the first place.

Ryan reached out to me twice,” he said. “I said no, twice. Every time he called there was a little more incentive. [Eventually,] I thought it was a great opportunity for me to get my foot in the door and open up me to the world.”

Ryan has tried to re-hire Jonathan, he claims.

Ryan has tried to hire me back three times at this point, so it really played out perfectly for me,” he said.
