Police have released footage of a driver's dangerous overtake, a "14-second lapse in judgment" that has landed him with a 12-month ban from the road and impacted his employment.

Steven Thomas, aged 46, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving after a dash cam captured his risky manoeuvre in Chapel Lane in Great Barr, on the afternoon of December 21 last year.
