At least eight boys aged 11 to 12 ‘gang rape disabled girl in school bathroom’ – but cops CAN’T take action
AT least eight schoolboys have been accused of gang-raping a disabled girl in the bathroom of a Spanish school.
Cops say the attack on the 12-year-old child occurred in school in Peñaflor, Seville in May.
The horrific document said that the victim was “removed from the sight of students and teachers and taken to the girl’s bathroom” during a break where the attack allegedly happened.
The young girl’s grandmother, whose identity was not shared, spoke to a Spanish TV programme ‘Y Ahora Sonsoles’ about the assault.
She described the “hell” the poor young girl endured the days after the alleged attack, as she reportedly didn’t tell anyone for days.
The heartbroken grandmother also separately told Telemadrid how the girl didn’t want to go to school, wouldn’t eat and wouldn’t sleep.
But according to Spanish Juvenile Law, when a perpetrator of rape is under the age of 14, he/she won’t be held liable under the law.
The case has therefore been transferred to Child Protection Services.
Andalusia’s Councillor for Social Inclusion, Youth, Families and Equality said in a press conference last week:
“From now on what we are going to do is put in place all the mechanisms for the protection of the girl, obviously, to fund the origin of this conduct, and based on that, adopt the appropriate measures”.
There’s been an uproar on social media regarding the decision to not investigate the schoolboys further.
One user took to X, formerly Twitter, saying: “If legislation is not urgently passed, these atrocities will continue, once again in a school that washes its hands”.
Another user commented: “Please, what is happening to society? Clearly we are doing it wrong and we are doing wrong to children”.
