Sally Gray, 56, was dressed in her graduation gowns and flat cap as she collected her Honorary Degree of Doctor of the University, Honoris Causa to recognise her contribution to culture and the creative arts.

Sally previously gained her Batchelor’s degree in Communication and Media Studies from the same establishment.

She was joined by Bake Off favourite Prue Leith on the special day.

The star’s TV career began on BBC Scotland, where she fronted education programme Go45 before she moved on to GMTV.

Sally then switched her focus to lifestyle and home renovation shows including Real Rooms, Moving Day and Our House.

She juggled this with her role on a slew of CBBC shows and even starred on reality series Fort Boyard herself.

After her screen success, Paisley-born Sally decided to create her own company, Presenters Inc, with pal Jonas Hurst.

It specialises in TV presenter training meaning she can share her skills learned through years in the industry.

She is a mum of two and was awarded an MBE last year.

TV SUCCESS

Sally has openly spoken about her TV career.

She previously told Queen Margaret University’s press team: “Go45 was a real rule breaking fresh take on old school style education programmes.

“I was able to co-host alongside radio broadcaster, Grant Stott, and the show attracted an average audience of 4.5-5 million per episode.

“Little did I know that this was just the beginning.”

Talking about her spin-off media company, she told how she is supporting a host of famous faces.

Sally added: “I get to work with amazing people, such as Olympic champion, Denise Lewis, and Strictly Come Dancing stars such as Katya Jones and Luba Mushtuk.

“I’ve also had the pleasure to train some incredible academics and captains of industry from organisations like Citi Bank, Coca-Cola and Pfizer.

“My job is to help those who have an important message to tell.”
