The actress wrote: “Here’s to the ladies who lunch.”

Lauren played scatterbrained single mum Lorelai Gilmore on the long-running series.

Meanwhile, Kelly had the role of her uptight and sophisticated mother, Emily Gilmore.

Fans of the show flocked to the comments begging Lauren to tell them this meant the series was being filmed again.

In the first season of Gilmore Girls, Lorelai agrees to go dinner with her estranged parents every Friday night on the condition that they pay for Rory’s schooling.

One person exclaimed: “Friday night dinners have resumed?!”

Another pleaded: “Please tell me there will be another Gilmore Girls series/movie???”

A third shared: “My heart…I cant!!!! This is extremely adorable to the point there is water coming out of my eyes.”

The original show, which was named one of Time’s 100 greatest television shows of all time, ran for seven seasons.

While the producers have not announced any reboots as of yet, Gilmore Girls made its way to ITVX for the first time ever this summer.

ITV’s head of content acquisitions expressed excitement about the new addition to their lineup, saying: “We’re over the moon to be bringing Stars Hollow to audiences in July. The Gilmore Girls’ enduring popularity has been amazing to follow over the years, and we hope that many more discover it next month on ITVX.”

Lauren Graham previously spoke about her connection to the character Lorelai in an interview, saying: “I think rather than try to worry about that, I kind of give into it.

“I don’t think I can ever separate myself too much, there’s too much of me in there. I don’t know if I want to entirely separate myself from that role.”

She added, “If I was trying to get away from it entirely, I feel that could never do anything comedic again. I would only have to do ‘law and order’ type of stuff. That’s just not me, not who I am.”

More recently, Lauren has been featured in TV series such as Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, Vampirina, and The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers.

Meanwhile Kelly Bishop went on to write a memoir based on her time on Gilmore Girls.

The autobiography was aptly titled The Third Gilmore Girl.
