I spent seven HOURS fixing my daughter’s hair after she got a cult toy stuck in it – I was left £80 out of pocket too

A MUM was left horrified after her daughter got a whole pack of Bunchems stuck in her hair and it took seven hours to remove them.

The shocked parent uploaded a video showing the little girl’s hair completely matted with the tiny round balls thoroughly embedded inside.

On her @veezybabyyy13 account, she said: “That one time my daughter got bunchems in her hair.

“Took seven hours to remove them.”

Bunchems are little plastic toys which kids can connect together to make different shapes.

The brand’s packaging warns users to keep them away from hair, but many parents will know that kids sometimes have other ideas.

When the mum was faced with the challenge of painstakingly removing each Bunchem individually, she realised the mission was going to take her a while.

She added: “We tried conditioner & coconut oil, but that only made it worse.”

The weary parent even admitted she had considered chopping her daughter’s hair, but decided against this in the end.

Finally she gave up completely and decided to take her to a salon to get a professional to help.

She explained: “I was trying to do it by myself. It took me like two hours to get out 7 of them!!! I would’ve never been able to do it on my own lol.”

Hours later, the poor little girl’s hair was finally free of the balls and back to normal.

Despite the hard work, the hairdresser didn’t even charge the mum for the time it took to remove the toys.

The mum added: “Can you believe the hairstylist didn’t want to charge me?!

“I ended up just tipping them $100 (£79) each.

“I really wish I could’ve given them more.”

Many people were quick to send their support and say they had also had issues with Bunchems.

The video has racked up over 41,000 likes, and viewers were quick to chime in.

How to get Bunchems out of kids' hair

THEY'RE a popular toy craze but Bunchems can be a nightmare if they get stuck in hair. Here's how to tackle them if you find yourself in that situation...

  • Use hair conditioner or vegetable oil.
  • Apply to hair around where Bunchems are stuck.
  • Comb the hair below until all knots are out.
  • Once all knots are out of the hair below the stuck Bunchems, pull the Bunchems down until they slide off the end of your hair.

One said: “Those hairstylist did such a great job almost no hair in those bunchems.”

Another added: “I’m guessing she lay down and rolled in the bunch of bunchems..mines done this before but thankfully not that many actually stayed stuck.”

And a third commented: “And that would’ve been the day she had a buzz cut.”

Previously a hairdresser shared how the same thing happened to one of her clients and the furry plastic balls were so embedded that she wondered if she’d have to shave the little girl’s hair off.

The hairdresser added: “She was so well-behaved and barely complained.

“We pulled 87 velcro balls out of her hair.

“We ended up cutting five to six inches of hair.”
