Legal Roku and Fire Stick trick unlocks 50,000 free movies and shows in single download – 7 new channels were just added

DON’T miss out on almost endless free TV available from a single download on your Amazon Fire Stick or Roku.

There are plenty of ways to unlock no-cost TV shows, movies, and even live channels – but one is particularly good (and totally legal).

Plex offers a huge library of content for zero fees[/caption]

It’s called Plex and it’s available as a free download on both Roku and Amazon Fire TV devices.

The app has an enormous library of over 50,000 movies and TV shows available on demand.

And Plex also offers over 1,100 live channels (of which more than 840 are available in the United States).

Now Plex is adding an additional seven channels this week.

The list of new entries includes:

  • Prime Suspect
  • The Doctor Blake Mysteries
  • A Touch of Frost
  • Death Valley Days
  • HBC Go Sports
  • BET Tyler Perry Comedy
  • BET Tyler Perry Drama

It comes just days after another six channels were added, including The Conners, Rachael Ray’s Italian Dream House, and FIFA Plus.

PLEX BEST THING!

Some TV fans might have missed the fact that Plex offers free content.

That’s because it started life as an app for beaming content you had saved (like home movies) to a screen of your choice.

This worked by setting up media servers, allowing you to create your own kind of personal Netflix.

But in late 2019, Plex began offering ad-supported television at no cost to viewers.

Its library of content has grown rapidly and it’s now one of the best options when it comes to viewing free TV on your devices.

Plex also offers movies for rental (as of February 2024), but that costs money.

Of course Plex isn’t the only game in town when it comes to FAST – or free ad-supported television – services.

Here’s a list of apps that offer at least some free content:

  • Tubi
  • Amazon Freevee
  • Plex TV
  • The Roku Channel
  • Sling Freestream (via Sling TV)
  • FilmRise
  • NewsON
  • Fawesome TV
  • Pluto TV
  • Local Now
  • Haystack News
  • Crackle
  • Red Bull TV
  • Free Movies Plus
  • PBS Kids Video
  • PBS
  • Xumo Play

The catch is that you’ll need to sit through commercials to enjoy free content on the bulk of these apps.

The Roku Channel – what you need to know

Here's the lowdown...

The Roku Channel is a streaming app that’s available on a range of devices.

It offers more than 400 live TV channels.

And it promises over 80,000 movies and TV shows on an on-demand basis.

Roku says that the app is available on:

  • Roku streaming devices
  • Compatible Samsung Smart TVs
  • Compatible AMazon Fire TV devices
  • TheRokuChannel.com website
  • Roku mobile apps (iOS and Android)

Roku notes that the app is only available in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. It’s also available in Mexico, but only on Roku devices.

But it could help you to save money each month by allowing you to cancel some of those premium subscriptions.

It might even allow you to cancel your cable.
