Huge girlband ‘set to reunite and perform’ at Glastonbury after singer drops huge hint

A MEMBER of an iconic girl group has dropped a huge hint they will perform at next year’s Glastonbury Festival.

Mel C, 50, is desperate for the Spice Girls to reunite for what would be a showstopping turn at Worthy Farm.

Sporty Spice is no stranger to the festival, having performed with indie band Blossoms in 2022 and again with electronic legends Orbital this year.

She guested on their track Spicy, which samples the group’s songs including Wannabe.

Mel looked to be having a blast as she danced around the Park Stage in a white boiler suit and with the dance duo’s signature head torch on.

Orbital’s Phil and Paul Hartnoll hit it off with Mel in a Shoreditch studio where they were both working back in the 90s and they have remained friends since.

Meanwhile the Spice Girls last performed together on a huge stadium tour in 2019, but bookmaker Ladbrokes has them at 2/1 to play Glasto next year.

Jessica O’Reilly of Ladbrokes said: “Glastonbury-goers are desperately hoping the Spice Girls will say they’ll be there next year.

“Their appearance would surely see one of the festival’s biggest ever crowds on the Pyramid Stage.”

And speaking to Chris Moyles on Radio X, Mel admitted it would be a dream come true for her.

“The absolute ultimate would be to do it with the Spice Girls,” she said. “There’s nothing I would like more.

“But you know, while they’re still making their minds up… I’ll keep practising.”

She added: “Shall we start the rumour already?” the former Sporty Spice laughed. “It doesn’t get rumoured every year! It’s something you never hear! Let’s all manifest!”

While the girls haven’t played a proper gig in five years, their fanbase went into over drive just weeks ago when they had an impromptu sing-song at Victoria Beckham’s star-studded 50th birthday.

All five members – Mel C, Mel B, Victoria, Emma Bunton and Geri Horner – performed hits Stop and Mama at the London bash, in video footage shared to Instagram by David Beckham.
