Suki Waterhouse's 'British Vogue' Cover Story Mentions Her Ex Bradley Cooper as She Talks Past Relationships & an 'Isolating' Time Period

Suki Waterhouse‘s British Vogue cover story makes a few mentions of her ex boyfriend Bradley Cooper, and some believe a few of her quotes might be referencing him, too. She never used his name directly.

If you don’t know, Bradley, now 49, and Suki, now 32, were first linked back in March of 2013. They split in May of 2015.

The piece mentions that Suki previously told fans about her breakup song “Brutally,” which was recorded in 2016: “I was so scared to put that song out. And [feel] so sad when I’m singing it. So, so sad. I never thought I’d be OK again.”

The writer of the British Vogue piece then noted that “Ten years on from the Cooper years” she is “OK again.” The piece also noted her relationships with musician Miles Kane and Diego Luna.

Suki shared in her cover story, published today, “I really will say that I’m pretty strong at this point, but when something very public happens to you and the story behind it is dark and difficult, and you’re actually not doing well, and you can’t explain yourself to the world, that’s very isolating and disorientating. It probably has taken a decade to work myself out and actually be able to have this expansion in my life.”

About writing about past relationships, she said, “You can’t let go of things until you expose them to sunlight and they shrivel up and die…A lot of it just doesn’t go away. Do you feel like you’ve ever truly recovered? I think it always stays in you.”

She continued, “Your 20s are pretty sadistic. The love I experienced [then] was only ever a fetishisation, and I think when you only get loved in that way, you only get punished. When you get into your 30s you’re almost instantly afforded a little bit more respect. It’s kind of delightful and shocking at the same time.”

About writing songs about past relationships, she said her partner Robert Pattinson does not care in the slightest.

She said, “He couldn’t really give a sh-t. He’s like, ‘No one’s better than me, so whatever.’”

But that doesn’t mean he himself is safe from a song being written about him, despite the fact that they’re very happy in love and new parents to a baby girl.

She shared, “Rob can still get a sh-tty song. You can find things to be pissed about.”

Sukis new album, Memoir of a Sparklemuffin, is out on September 13, 2024.

Fans believe Suki shaded Bradley Cooper in a public way.
