Two Jayhawks named preseason All-Big 12

LAWRENCE (KSNT) - KU football has a pair of players at the same position on the preseason All-Big 12 team.

The league announced its preseason media poll and preseason all-conference selections on Monday. Jayhawk defensive backs Cobbe Bryant and Mello Dotson are both included. No KU players are listed on the offensive side of the ball. It's Bryant's second time earning the preseason all-conference honor.

KU is the only program with two selections in the defensive secondary. Oklahoma State, Utah, Arizona and Colorado all share the honor of having two defenders included.

No K-State players earned preseason selection, despite the Wildcats being picked to finish second in the conference.

Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon was named the preseason offensive player of the year. Colorado cornerback Travis Hunter was named the preseason defensive player of the year. UCF quarterback KJ Jefferson, a transfer from Arkansas, picked up the preseason newcomer of the year title.
