Heavy traffic advisory for nearly sold-out SPAC shows
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- New York State Park Police have issued a heavy traffic advisory for three upcoming almost sold-out concerts at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC). The Tyler Childers show is set for July 3, while Dave Matthews Band is set to perform on July 5 and 6.
Park Police are expecting heavy traffic around SPAC and Saratoga Springs on those days. Concertgoers are encouraged to arrive early, carpool, use alternative modes of transportation, and drive sober. The Tyler Childers concert is set to start at 7 p.m. and the Dave Matthews Band show will be starting around 7:30 p.m. both nights.
The intersection at Avenue of the Pines, Route 50, and Geyser Road will have heavy congestion and long delays, said Park Police. To avoid this, drivers are encouraged to arrive from the south and have their payment ready in advance for parking.
For the concerts, the southbound Route 50 left turn lane to eastbound Avenue of the Pines will be closed from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., said Park Police. Eastbound Avenue of the Pines from Route 50 and eastbound East West Road from Route 50 will be closed at the end of the shows.
