Wimbledon Rep Responds to Rumors About Kate Middleton's Possible Attendance at 2024 Tournament

Many are wondering if Princess Catherine of Wales (aka Kate Middleton) will be appearing at Wimbledon this year.

As the patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, the 42-year-old royal has attended the annual UK-based tennis tournament every year since 2014 (except in 2020, when the tournament was canceled). Since taking over as the patron of the club in 2016, she has handed out trophies to the winners as well.

If you don’t know, in March of 2024, the Princess announced that she had been diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing preventative chemotherapy. She has only made one public appearance since then, and has been out of the spotlight as she undergoes treatment.

Now, a Wimbledon chairperson is speaking out, and they are remaining “hopeful” that she could possible attend.

All we’ve said is that we’ll work with her and give her as much flexibility as possible,” Debbie Jevans, chair of the All England Club, told The Telegraph in a statement.
