‘You’re a lifesaver’ say iPhone owners after fan shares ‘awesome’ music button trick they ‘didn’t even know existed’

APPLE fans are loving an easy-to-miss music trick that’s hidden away on your iPhone.

Once you find it, you’ll want to use it all the time.

Shazam is built into your iPhone – but you might not be using it to its full potential[/caption]

For a start, you may not realize that Shazam is available on your iPhone as standard.

Shazam’s tech identifies songs playing nearby – and tells you what you’re hearing.

This isn’t the main part of the trick, but it’s important to know.

Apple bought Shazam back in 2018, and has built the tech directly into your iPhone.

So you don’t even need to download Shazam to make this feature work.

You can add Shazam to your Control Center for quick access.

Just go to Settings > Control Center and add it to the list.

Then you can swipe down from the top-right corner of the screen (or up from the bottom if your iPhone has a Home button) to open Control Center and easily activate Shazam.

SHAZAM-AZING!

That’s great, but the real trick is what comes next.

What if you wanted to see a list of all the songs that you’ve ever identified with Shazam? Well, that’s totally possible.

All you need to do is hold your finger down on the Shazam button in Control Center.

Instead of activating Shazam, it will pull up a menu of all the songs you’ve used the feature to identify.

The trick was shared in a Reddit thread that earned over 150 “upvotes”, equivalent to likes.

One user replied: “Dude thank you so much! I always thought that the song was gone if I didnt open it in time in Spotify/Apple Music after shazaming it. Good to know that the history is saved.”

Another said: “Thanks bro, you’re a lifesaver. I lost a lot of good songs because I didn’t know about this.”

One added: “This is super helpful, didn’t even know this feature existed. Thank you!”

And another wrote: “That’s awesome! Thanks for teaching me this.”

TAP TIP…

That’s not the only Shazam trick that you should know about.

There’s actually another way to activate Shazam that doesn’t involve going into the Control Center.

Instead you can use Back Tap, which turns the rear of your iPhone into a giant button.

Go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Back Tap, and then choose either Double Tap or Triple Tap.

Then select Shazam for the tap of your choice and save your preference.

Then you can Double Tap or Triple Tap (whichever you chose) on the back of your iPhone to activate Shazam.

This may not work great if you have a very thick case on your iPhone, but it should be fine for most users.

That way you can activate Shazam very quickly, which may mean catching a song before it goes away.
