BROKEN Toyah Battersby makes a shock decision about sister Leanne’s cult in Coronation Street.
For the last couple of months, the sisters have been at loggerheads after Toyah voiced her disapproval over Leanne taking part in sessions hosted by Rowan, the leader of The Institute.
While Leanne is blind to what Rowan is up to, Toyah saw through the facade and launched a social media campaign against Rowan online.
However, Rowan got his revenge by having members of his team follow her every move – leading to them catching her kissing Leanne’s fiance, Nick Tilsley.
The salacious information has prompted Rowan to blackmail Toyah and Nick.
Meanwhile, Leanne is unaware of her sister’s betrayal, and when Toyah is rushed to hospital with stomach pains this week, Leanne is there by her side supporting her.
Toyah is given some shocking news, and in upcoming Coronation Street spoilers, she returns home, still shell shocked from what she has been told.
Leanne tells Nick she is going to spend the day looking after Toyah, but when Rowan calls asking her to attend the taster session for new recruits Toyah offers to go with her.
As they arrive at the Chariot Square Hotel for the new recruits session, Leanne is delighted to see Amy amongst the attendees.
However, Toyah is horrified by the younger resident being drawn into the Institute, after Leanne showed her a video to help her decompress and de-stress.
What will Toyah do next? And does she have the strength to fight the cult after what she’s been through lately?
Georgia Taylor – who plays Toyah – recently opened up about her alter egos affair with her sister’s fiance Nick.
She said: “It’s really confusing for Toyah, Nick is to all intents and purposes her brother in law and they haven’t always got on, so it’s not like she’s been harbouring some secret attraction.
“So this has hit her out of the blue, they’ve both been there for each other these last few weeks when life has been really tough and those feelings are starting to get a little bit blurred.
“Toyah loves her sister but every time she feels guilty for leaning on Nick, Leanne does something to push her away again.
“It’s difficult when you’re angry at someone, but you also feel guilty for something you’ve done to them. It’s very conflicting for Toyah.”
