Stotts has had three previous stints as head coach: with the Atlanta Hawks (2002-2004), Milwaukee Bucks (2005-2007), and more famously with the Portland Trail Blazers (2012-2021), where he coached the Blazers to multiple playoff appearances with Damian Lillard as his superstar. He most recently was an assistant coach under Adrian Griffin’s tenure as head coach of the Bucks — a role that was short lived.
Stackhouse had an 18-year career as a player in the NBA before starting his coaching career. He was previously an assistant with the Toronto Raptors (2015-2016) and the Memphis Grizzlies (2018-2019). He was head coach of the Raptors’ G League affiliate, the Raptors 905 (2016-2018) and was most recently the head coach of the Vanderbilt Commodores (2019-2024) in the NCAA.
