Copa America: Costa Rica beat Paraguay but miss quarterfinal spot

AUSTIN, July 2 (Xinhua) -- Francisco Calvo and Josimar Alcocer scored early goals as Costa Rica bowed out of the Copa America with a 2-1 victory over Paraguay on Tuesday, a result that proved little more than a consolation for the Central American side.

Calvo headed home following Joseph Mora's corner and Alcocer doubled the advantage with a 20-yard drive that cannoned into the bottom-left corner.
