Starbucks reveals new summer menu shake-up with never-seen-before drink – and it has a popular nutty flavour

Starbucks is shaking up its menu for summer including the addition of a fan favourite flavour in the US that’s hitting UK shores for the first time.

From July 4, coffee lovers can get the iced white chocolate pistachio oat shaken espresso – a blend of coffee, oat and white chocolate pistachio flavour sauce.

Pistachio flavour is one the menu for the first time in the UK
Pink coconut Refresha with matcha cold cream foam is also being added to menus

It’s the first time that a pistachio flavour coffee has been on Starbucks menus this side of the pond.

Starbucks customers in the US enjoyed the flavour most recently over winter when they were served the pistachio latte and pistachio cream cold brew.

Fans were gutted when it left menus in March.

The new nutty flavour drink is priced £4.35 for a tall size, though prices can vary depending on location.

Also coming to menus as Starbucks more than 1,000 stores across the country are new cold foam flavours to add twists to summer classics.

Cold foam is a mix of whole milk, whipped cream and vanilla flavouring that can be added to any drink.

Strawberry cream cold foam arrives just in time for Wimbledon where the fruit is popular among the crowds of tennis fans.

The coffee chain suggests it goes well with the iced white mocha.

Matcha cream cold foam will also be an option for customising your brew and stores will be suggesting it matches well with the pink coconut Refresha drink.

Matcha is a type of green tea said to have anti-oxidants and is popular addittion in an number of food and drinks, even Kit Kats.

Refreshas are cold fruit juice drinks that also contain real fruit pieces – in this case strawberries – over ice.

Cookies and cream cold foam for fans of sweet treats will also be available added to cold brew.

And finally iced caramel latte with creme brulee cream cold foam will appear on summer menus.

The sweet caramel foam was introduced in the UK for the first time in April, and is another popular flavour in the US that’s made it to UK stores.

Prices of each can vary depending on location, but here’s how much a tall will generally set you back:

  • Iced white mocha with strawberry cream foam – £4.95
  • Pink coconut Starbucks Refresha with matcha cream cold foam – £5.40
  • Cold brew with cookies and cream – £3.85
  • Iced caramel latte with creme brulee cream cold foam – £4.60

And you can also add the cold foams to customise any drink. Baristas at Starbucks can suggest the best combinations.

In the US elaborate customisation have often gone viral on social media.
