I got with a 10/10 man that everyone loved – then I decided to Google him and the truth horrified me

MOST of us probably don’t look our date up on Google.

Sure, we’ll have a quick Facebook stalk and peruse through their old Instagram pictures – but a search engine feels too far.

However, Emma Klipstein’s story might make you think twice about not Googling your dates.

The 30-year-old felt a random urge to type her date’s name into Google while lying in his bed and was horrified at what she found.

She confessed to the one-in-a-million mess on the Unhinged podcast, which she co-hosts with her friend Chloe Madison.

Emma was in her final year of university when she met the “really charismatic” and “well-dressed” bloke at a bar.

“Him and I started making eyes, we started talking,” she recalls.

“He tells me that he has his own company, he’s 28-years-old and he was taking all of his employees out for a celebratory drinks thing.

“I met all of these employees, they were all there and raving about him.

“He’s buying all there drinks and I was like, ‘wow, this guy is a stand up guy, this is amazing’.”

Emma, from New York, ended up going home with the man for a one night stand and said he was “being so affectionate towards her”.

When the morning rolled around, he had to go to work but encouraged her to stay in his apartment until she was ready to leave.

At the time, Emma was thinking: “I could marry this man.”

“Normally, when I meet a guy, I like to not Google them,” she continues.

“I specifically don’t Google them as I like to learn things from the horse’s mouth.

“But for some reason, I Googled this guy while I was in his apartment.

Emma shot out of the door like a whippet when she learnt of her one night stand’s criminal past.

She dubbed her story “a lesson for every girl, everywhere” and urged other women to “always Google people” after meeting them.

“He ended up calling me and I didn’t answer,” she adds.

“And then he kept calling me, and then he started leaving voicemails, and then he continued to text me every single day.

“I eventually had to block his number… he’s in my phone as ‘The Killer’.”
