ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- KA Sushi, located at 287 New Scotland Avenue in Albany, has closed its doors. According to a Facebook post, the eatery closed at the end of June as their lease had ended.

"Your patronage over the years has been the backbone of our success, and we cannot thank you enough for your loyalty and support," read the post. "Through good times and the challenges of COVID-19, your unwavering encouragement kept us going."

KA Sushi is a part of Kuma Ani, a local ramen restaurant chain. While the New Scotland Avenue location focused on sushi and Japanese dishes, the other Kuma Ani locations focus on ramen, ban mein, and donburi.

Kuma Ani changed the name to KA Sushi in July 2023 and switched from serving ramen to sushi under its owner and chef Tommy Huang. Kuma Ani's ramen locations are at 1521 6th Avenue in Troy and 109 Wolf Road in Colonie, and they have a sushi express location in Empire State Plaza.

"It has been an honor to serve you, and we will always treasure the memories we've made together," read the post. "Though this chapter is ending, please know that you have been more than customers to us – you've been a part of our sushi family."
