Get your green on for family fun at Central Library

Liverpool MakeFest is the UK’s biggest FREE, ticketed ‘Maker’ event, a one-day hybrid technology, arts and craft festival where Makers from across the UK get together to share and show their projects to the public with the hope of enthusing the next generation of creative technologists and artists.

It’s a fun, buzzing, educational and often surprising day for the whole family that takes place in the unique and stunning setting of Liverpool Central Library. And what’s more, it’s all free!

Although this is general theme most years, the library team has decided to go large on the themes of sustainability and renewables.

Makers will be showcasing their creations and inspiring the next generations to put sustainability at the forefront of everything they do and demonstrate how they can find solutions to reach Net Zero and protect the planet through innovation and creative thinking.

Adults and children are encouraged to dress up as your favourite flower, plant or insect so ‘BEE’ creative!

The programme for the day includes the return of:

The fantastic Quantum Tech Club premiering their new displays, robots and robot design, Western Spiral Art make your own handmade wands and flowers, Neston High School Makerspace showing how they recycle plastic, 3D printed guitars, DoES Liverpool showcase, Liverpool Astronomical Society and their telescopes, a Giant Lego set up, Abscraft sustainable making and Creative Stich and Toy Hacker and many, many more .
