What to eat at Blues Fest? There's a web app for that

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- You go to the Waterfront Blues Festival for the music. But the food options are just as good as the tunes. But how do you know what food is available?

The answer: Use your phone to scan the QR code that opens up the Foodi Menus web app.

The Foodi Menus web app shows all the food and drink vendor plus has menus with photos. You can filter your options down to specific dietary needs like vegan or gluten-free. You can also check out individual ingredients before you make a decision.

Ben Fisher, the founder/CEO of Foodi Menus, grew up with the Blues Festival. Being part of the Blues Fest in a way to help people is meaningful for this Portland native.

"My dad's a big blues fan and so he would be talking about it all the time," Fisher told KOIN 6 News.

"I am really looking forward to this opportunity to take something that I built here in Portland and really show it to the rest of the Portland community in hopes that it will get people excited, get people wanting more and seeing how this could be distributed throughout the rest of the city," he said.

He also hopes to have the Foodi Menus app at more events. And he's already working with some local restaurants, showing how this platform makes it easy for business owners to do things like upload a change on their menus.
