Jason Mraz Shares Why He Begged His Friends to 'Stop Voting' for Him on 'Dancing with the Stars'

Jason Mraz is looking back at competing on Dancing with the Stars.

If you forgot, the 47-year-old “I’m Yours” singer competed on season 32 of the ABC competition series with partner Daniella Karagach. They ended up coming in second place while Charli D’Amelio and Mark Ballas finished first.

In a new interview, Jason revealed why he actually begged his friends to “stop voting” for him on the show.

Keep reading to find out more…“Two or three weeks in, I realized I’m probably going to be here the whole time, and I’m terrified, and I have to cancel all my plans for the entire rest of the year, and I’m missing my cat terribly,” Jason recalled on Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s Dinner’s On Me podcast.

“I start telling my friends, ‘Stop voting for me!’” he added.

Jason went on to say that at one point he even told the producers he was considering leaving the show, but ultimately decided to stick it out and continue competing.

“Having made it all the way to the very end, made it to the buzzer, I look back and laugh and think, ‘Well, maybe if I’d actually given a s–t!’” he said. “So, I would do it all over again if I could, and I would try really hard.”

Also in interview, Jason talked about his sexuality, being closeted in the 90s, and how he’s never actually been in love.
