Delhi: All eyes were on the Indian cricket team’s arrival in Delhi. The victorious team returned to Delhi on a rainy Thursday morning. India’s premier batter Virat Kohli was the first to step out of Terminal 3 the Indira Gandhi International airport in Delhi. There was a rousing reception for him and the entire team. But what stole the show was when they got in the bus and saw the fans outside, Kohli was stunned. A stunned Kohli asks his teammates to look outside and see the number of fans that have gathered. The Air India special charter flight AIC24WC took off from Barbados around 4:50am on Wednesday and arrived in Delhi around 6am (IST) today.

The Indian team, players’ families, some board officials are all aboard the flight.
The Men in Blue secured the crown, marking India’s fourth overall World Cup, with a thrilling seven-run victory over South Africa in the final on June 29.

Sadly, the team had to extend their stay and were unable to return home due to a shutdown caused by Hurricane Beryl.

The Rohit Sharma and team is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his official residence today.

After meeting PM Modi, the T20 World Cup 2024 champs will fly to Mumbai and take part in the open bus victory parade. The parade will be followed by a felicitation ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium.
