Kesha is taking us on a “JOYRIDE” after parting ways with Dr. Luke‘s label.

On Thursday (July 4), the hitmaker returned with her her new single, and it’s a playful and defiant banger just in time for the summer festivities.

“Are you a man? ‘Cause I’m a b-tch,” she sings over a high-energy production courtesy of Zhone. “Don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t even try to give me s-it / I’ve earned the right to be like this.”

“JOYRIDE” hits a fever pitch on the chorus, where Kesha makes an apparent reference to Mean Girls, singing, “Get in, loser, for the joyride.”

The song comes after Kesha parted ways with Dr. Luke in December 2023. Despite the departure signifying a “brand-new” chapter in her career, she hinted that she still wasn’t “free” to release music yet back in February 2024.

Thankfully, she has reached that point!
