Whether it’s hosting a BBQ with friends, having cocktails on the patio, you want to make sure your lawn is in tip top condition if any guests come over.

Lawn experts at Prestige Lawns shared their top tips for reviving lawns damaged by dog urine on a budget.

Water The Area

As much as we love our furry friends, it can be frustrating when they urinate on patches of lawn.

As soon as you notice the urine, water it thoroughly to prevent it from scorching the grass.

Rake Dead Grass

After the patch of grass has dried up, use a rake to remove any dead grass.

This will make way for fresh grass to grow.

Plant Grass Seed

Next, sprinkle your lawn generously with grass seeds.

Make sure to cover the seeds with a layer of top soil or compost to aid rooting.

You can pick up grass seeds for as little as £1 online or at your local garden centre.

After the seeds have been scattered, ensure to water them with a small watering can.

However, don’t give them too much water, as this can oversaturate them.

Tread With Care

Once the seeds have been set in, make sure not to walk on the affected patch for a few weeks.

It is also important to take care not to allow your dog near the area.

This will give the lawn time to heal and grow back, greener and more lush than before.
