I’m a Team GB athlete and there will be lots of sex and alcohol at the Olympics – they have fish bowls full of condoms

EMILY CAMPBELL expects there to be lots of sex and booze in the Athletes’ Village in Paris.

The Team GB weightlifter – a bronze medallist at the last Games in Tokyo – has to remain focused and teetotal until the final day of the Olympics.

Her competition – the women’s +81kg class – is scheduled for an epic finale on Sunday August 11 at the South Paris Arena.

Yet Campbell, 30, knows those around her who have finished their competitions will make the most of the downtime in the City of Love.

Campbell, speaking on an episode of the Stirring It Up with Andi and Miquita Oliver, said: “The thing you’ll have is that people finish at different times in the Games.

“It’s on for two weeks but the swimmers, the rowers, they’ll start in the first week.

“Then the track-and-field might not start until the end of the second week.

“In Paris, for example, I’m not until the final day.

“But essentially yeah, they always say there’s no alcohol in the Village and everyone always finds a way to get it in.

“Then there’s basically people who just party in the Village and everyone just starts to obviously intermingle.

“There are thousands of athletes that have been training in discipline for four years, some of the best-looking people on the planet all in one place.

“There actually are fish bowls of condoms and stuff around because they know it happens.”

Paris chiefs have installed special bed frames made out of cardboard to prevent athletes from getting too hot and bothered in the night after some stars admitted to past orgies.

Campbell continued: “I don’t know if you’ve seen the thing about the ‘anti-sex bed’ or whatever?

“They did this thing in Tokyo where they made these cardboard beds, so the beds were literally made from cardboard in the Village.

“It was for recycling purposes, but everyone branded it as the ‘anti-sex bed’ because it would break.

“One of the weightlifters, one of my boys in the team, he’s from the Netherlands and he’s a hundred and seventy odd kilos.

“And he’s fine on the bed. So I was like, if you’re a gymnast or whatever, you can have a party on that bed, really, can’t you?

“Do you know what I mean, in the grand scheme of things? If you’ve got fifty kilo gymnasts, they’re having a great time, aren’t they?”
