‘Omg, how cute’ fashionistas rave over ‘elite’ PJ design at Sainsbury’s – and call it a ‘straight-up need’

SUPERMARKET shoppers are going totally wild over a new Sainsbury’s PJ set they reckoned is a ”straight-up need”.

Over the last few years, Sainsbury’s have seriously upped their fashion game – whether that’s a cute summer dress that won’t break the bank or a co-ord that doubles up as a wedding guest outfit.

And as if we needed even more convincing to pop down to the local supermarket this week, Sainsbury’s have sent shoppers into a frenzy with a new adorable pyjama design.

Meet your new favourite nightwear set – Blue Stripe Croissant Print Traditional Pyjamas – which is the perfect way to welcome the weekend.

The beyond cute print celebrates our favourite carbolicious-so-delicious treat – the buttery croissant – as well as your morning brew.

In a traditional style, the set includes one long sleeve pyjama shirt and one pair of pyjama bottoms to match – what better way to slide into a Saturday morning with a relaxing breakfast.

The PJs, which come in a range of sizes going from UK 8 to UK 24, retail for a purse-friendly £20.

However, if you’re just as obsessed with them as we, the team at Fabulous, are, you will need to act quick – as some sizes are already running low in stock.

The fantastic offer, which will give shoppers 20 Nectar points, had already become a massive hit on social media, where one customer, Libbie May Fitzpatrick, dubbed them ”the cutest” ever.

Not one to gatekeep, Libbie (@libbiemayfitzpatrick) took to TikTok where she shared the incredible and sweet find to fellow fashionistas.

”Omg, so, so cute,” the style lover wrote about the set, which she described as ”top tier”.

It’s not just Libbie who was loving the croissant design – dozens of viewers were raving over the design, flocking to comments under the video to tag their pals.

”Buy these for France,” one person told their friend.

Someone else told their mates that the PJs were ”a straight-up need” and not a want.

”Sainsbury’s need to stop with the PJs I am too weak I cannot resist!!!” cried one shopper.

”Sainsbury’s pyjamas are elite!” a fan of the store praised the brand.

”I’m not even getting excited because the sh*ttest Sainsbury’s is my Sainsbury’s,” remarked another who seemed to have no luck of finding the trendy PJs everyone’s been loving.

Is supermarket fashion the new high street?

DEPUTY Fashion Editor Abby McHale weighs in:

The supermarkets have really upped their game when it comes to their fashion lines. These days, as you head in to do your weekly food shop you can also pick up a selection of purse-friendly, stylish pieces for all the family.

Tesco has just announced a 0.7 per cent increase in the quarter thanks to a ‘strong growth in clothing’ and M&S has earnt the title of the number one destination for womenswear on the high street.

Asda’s clothing line George has made £1.5 million for the supermarket in 2023, 80 per cent of Sainsbury’s clothes sold at full price rather than discounted and Nutmeg at Morrisons sales are also up 2 per cent in the past year.

So what is it about supermarket fashion that is becoming so successful?

Apart from the clothing actually being affordable, it’s good quality too – with many being part of schemes such as the Better Cotton Initiative.

A lot of the time they keep to classic pieces that they know will last the customer year after year.

Plus because they buy so much stock they can turn around pieces quickly and buy for cheaper because of the volumes.

It’s not just these croissant-print PJs shoppers have been loving – their latest nightwear collection is said to be giving major ”coastal summer vibes”.

One such hit, Tu White Broderie Hem Traditional Pyjamas, have been reduced to £15 from £20 – and there’s another firm favourite fashion fans have been going wild over.

Tu Blue Stripe Traditional Pyjamas are the brand’s second best seller and currently only cost £13.50, down from £18.
