Report: La Liga club are trying to free up space to sign Tottenham player
According to AS, Real Beits cannot make a move for Giovani Lo Celso unless they make a big sale first and free up space on their wage bill.
Real Betis want to resign Giovani Lo Celso
There have been plenty of reports from Spain all through the summer about Betis’ desire to sign Lo Celso, who departed the club to join Tottenham back in 2019.
The La Liga club seemingly have a great chance to sign the Argentine on a discount since he has just a year left on his contract at Spurs.
However, AS point out that before they can push ahead with a move for Lo Celso, they would first have to offload Nabil Fekir.
Real Betis need to free up space to sign Lo Celso
The Frenchman is said to be on the radar of several Saudi Arabian sides, with Betis now waiting for a big offer to come their way for the player.
The report says that not only would the fee from Fekir’s sale help them fund a move for Lo Celso but with the former Lyon man being their highest earner, it would help free up space to offer the Tottenham man the contract he wants.
However, the publication adds that with there being no signs of any immediate movements around Fekir’s future, Betis would have to stay patient if they want to re-sign the 28-year-old.

Lo Celso has plenty of power since he has just a year left on his contract.
The midfielder will have a huge say on where he ends up this summer and if he has his heart set on a return to Betis, Spurs would likely have to wait until later in the window when the Spanish side can afford a deal.
