Class I student dies, family cries foul play

A six-year-old Class 1 student at a private residential primary school in Champua block, Keonjhar, was found dead in a pond on Wednesday. Residing in the school hostel, his body was found by staff, causing family and local protests alleging murder due to cut marks. SDPO Barbil, Priyas Ranjan Chhotray, and local police responded and controlled the situation. A murder investigation was launched following the father's complaint. The postmortem was conducted at the district headquarters hospital.
