EU Health Commissioner Kyriakides to step down

EU Health Commissioner Stella Kyriakides announced on Friday that she will be stepping down from her role and returning to Cyprus in the coming months.

Kyriakides stated that as her term is coming to an end, she plans to step down and return to Cyprus. “I have already informed Commission President Ms von der Leyen that with the end of the current term in the EU Commission, I will return to my country,” she said.

She added that she has also already informed President Nikos Christodoulides about her decision and thanked him for their cooperation during her term.

“Through my role of EU Health Commissioner, my goal was to give my best, making every effort to serve both my fellow Europeans and my country in the best possible way,” she said.
