Hurricane Beryl makes landfall on Mexico's Caribbean coast near Tulum as a Category 2 storm

The U.S. National Hurricane Center said early Friday that Beryl is expected to rapidly weaken to a tropical storm as it crosses over the Yucatan Peninsula before it re-emerges into the Gulf of Mexico and likely regains hurricane strength.
