NEW YORK (PIX11) – High pressure will move offshore this afternoon followed by a front slowly approaching from the west.

We can expect partly sunny skies this afternoon with increasing humidity levels. There is a chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms throughout the day as the front gets closer to the area. The high will be 88 in the city and upper-80s to low-90s in the suburbs.

Saturday will be partly sunny, warm, and very humid with rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon as a cold front will move through the region. The high will be 87 in the city and mid to upper-80s in the suburbs.

Sunday will be sunny and hot as winds will shift to the southwest and then to the west. Temperatures will be in the low-90s for much of the region.

Monday will be mostly sunny and hot as high pressure will dominate the weather for the region. The high will be 90 in the city and upper-80s to low-90s in the suburbs.

Tuesday will be partly sunny with a chance of an isolated shower or thunderstorm. The high will be 86 in the city and mid to upper-80s in the suburbs.

Wednesday will be partly sunny with a chance of showers and temperatures in the mid to upper-80s for much of the region.

Thursday will be mostly cloudy with a high of 86 in the city and mid to upper-80s in the suburbs.
