Gateway's 'Summer of Love' movie series to feature Frances Ha, Scott Pilgrim and more

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- A nonprofit cinema is showing a variety of iconic romance movies this summer, including fan favorites like The Perks of Being a Wallflower and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.

Gateway Film Center -- an independent movie theater at 1550 N. High St. -- recently announced its "Summer of Love" series. Featuring indie romance films from the '90s and 2000s, the series will be shown July through September.

Here's the full list of romances being shown as part of Gateway's newly-announced series.

  • July 6-7: Frances Ha (2012) on 35mm film
  • July 13-14: The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012)
  • July 20-21: Punch-Drunk Love (2002)
  • July 27-28: Her (2013)
  • Aug. 3-4: Moonrise Kingdom (2012)
  • Aug. 10-11: Me and You and Everyone We Know (2005)
  • Aug. 17-18: Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist (2008)
  • Aug. 24-25: Much Ado About Nothing (1993)
  • Aug. 31-Sept. 1: Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994)
  • Sept. 7-8: Before Sunrise (1995)
  • Sept. 14-15: Lost in Translation (2003)
  • Sept. 21-22: Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010)

After closing for the COVID-19 pandemic, Gateway reopened in 2021. Since then, the nonprofit cinema has undergone a variety of changes, including safer facilities, upgraded HVAC systems, new seating and the introduction of a members-only speakeasy.
