I’m 39 & the fine lines under my eyes have disappeared – 2 serums made a big difference, I wish I had found them earlier

A 39-YEAR-OLD beauty enthusiast has revealed the serums that she used to reverse the signs of aging around her eyes.

She confessed to wishing that she’d found the skincare products in her 20s to prevent fine lines and wrinkles.

She told members of Reddit’s 30 Plus Skincare forum that she started to use eye creams and gels with peptides in her early 30s.

However, in her late 30s the ingredient no longer visibly diminished the wrinkles around her eyes.

TOPICAL TREATMENT

The beauty fan said late last year she introduced two new skincare ingredients into her routine that have made a “big difference.”

“After a couple of weeks of daily niacinamide and sporadic bakuchiol (like maybe twice a week), the fine lines I have under my eyes pretty much disappeared,” she said, writing under the handle LailahDream.

“My skin is astonishingly even and glowy. I wish I had known about these products in my 20s!

“Anyway, bakuchiol is a collagen builder, like retinols are.

“Retinols are supposedly the strongest, most effective thing to use, as they can actually reverse signs of aging somewhat.”

The Redditor confessed she’s “too nervous” to use retinol on her skin and advised anyone considering the “harsh” ingredient” to speak to a dermatologist first.

She said it can make the skin “more susceptible to UV damage” therefore worsening photoaging.

She advised people to focus on keeping their skin healthy rather than ageless.

“Most importantly — if you find something (healthy) that reverses your lines/wrinkles and makes you happy, great!” she said.

“But if they’re here to stay, that’s okay too. Having healthy, glowing skin is still possible, even with wrinkles.

“Just remember that any age can be beautiful. Wrinkles are inevitable, and you can be a stunner with lines too.”

BEAUTY BUYS

Many people upvoted the post and were curious to find out the exact serums that transformed her skin.

She shared a link to BIO: VEGANE SKINFOOD Organic Red Algae Slow Age Super Phyto-Retinol Serum For All Skin Types, which costs $23.87 on Amazon.

“But the niacinamide made the biggest difference in my skin, I think,” she said.

Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%, $10.80, The Ordinary

“I started using it about a month or so before incorporating the bakuchiol, and the niacinamide was already wowing me.

“Idk [I don’t know] though, haven’t worked up to daily bakuchiol yet.”

Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% is available from The Ordinary for $10.80.

Delighted customers have given it an impressive 4.3-star rating out of a possible 5.

One shopper penned a review saying they no longer get “breakouts,” while another said it evened their skin tone and reduced the appearance of hyperpigmentation.

According to Healthline, niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3 that can have an anti-inflammatory effect when applied topically.

It is often used in cosmetics targeting acne and rosacea as it is crucial for keeping skin healthy.
