Style expert trolled for sharing 5 ways to ‘look richer’ on a budget as critics note tell-tale sign that gives her away

A STYLE expert has caused a stir after sharing her top five tips to “look richer” than you are.

Allison Hoeller, an expert in all things style, elegance and beauty, has been warned her advice will actually make people look CHEAPER.

The 28-year-old content creator urged her fans to invest in designer dupes and purchase gold-coloured jewellery on Amazon to “elevate” their style.

But not everyone agreed with her suggestions.

Some even pointed out there’s a tell-tale style about her beauty routine that makes her advice on the topic of looking wealthier “untrustworthy”.

Allison revealed her “five ways to look expensive if you’re broke” in a now-viral Instagram reel.

She claimed the most important part of looking richer than you actually are is wearing certain types of jewellery.

“Having a good necklace stack is absolutely key,” she said to her 99,000 followers.

“Typically gold, because it has a more wealthy look to it.”

Allison recommended pairing your necklace stack with gold hoops – all of which she purchases on Amazon for less than £15.

“A good chunky earring is an amazing way to elevate your outfit as well,” she added.

Her third way to look more elegant is by styling her outfit with a “pair of good sunglasses”.

Allison owns a cheap pair that she thinks “look identical” to the viral CELINE Triomphe style.

“They give that rich girl aesthetic, that rich girl vibe,” she said.

“I paid literally $15 (£11.70) for these but you would never know.”

She also buys handbags for around £20 to £40 on Amazon and loves wearing dupes of designer sandals, particularly the Hermès Oran style.

Allison also wears dupes of the iconic Cartier Love rings to “elevate” the vibe of her hands.

Spot the difference

Those who didn’t agree with the influencer’s recommendations were quick to slam her.

In fact, some fashionistas even warned that Allison’s tips and hacks would have the opposite effect and make you look CHEAP.

“With all respect, wearing knockoffs just makes it look cheap, not elevated,” Andy Villar commented.

“I suggest brandless items with big quality instead.”

“Nothing looks identical,” Stephanie Lai commented on Allison’s buys.

“Anyone that owns the real deal can spot the differences immediately.”

The give away

Others warned that the content creator’s laminated-look eyebrows give the game away.

“First, fix your eyebrows,” one viewer ruthlessly recommended.

“I’m not getting any hack or advice from her when her eyebrow decisions are already that bad,” another savagely wrote.

Laminated brows, a popular beauty trend involving the semi-permanent setting of eyebrow hairs in an upward direction, have a mixed reception regarding their level of classiness.

In wealthier social circles, understated beauty and minimalist approaches to make-up are typically valued more highly, making bold trends like laminated brows seem out of place.

That said, brushed-up brows can look chic and polished when done correctly and suited to your face.

They can add structure and definition to the face, and many find the look to be modern and refreshing.

And let’s not forget, elegance in beauty is subjective and varies widely based on personal taste and cultural context.
