Troy woman charged with burglary in Brunswick

State police reported the arrest of a Troy woman following a burglary investigation.

BRUNSWICK, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- State police reported the arrest of a Troy woman following a burglary investigation. Yasmin Vasquez, 25, is facing multiple charges.

On July 2 around 4:38 p.m., state police responded to a home in Brunswick after a caller reported that someone known to them was on their property without permission. Troopers arriving at the residence found Vasquez in the basement and took her into custody.

The ensuing investigation revealed that Vasquez allegedly forced her way into the home on both July 1 and 2, causing considerable damage to the house and items inside during both instances. She now faces the following charges:

  • Two counts of second-degree burglary
  • Two counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief
  • Possession of burglar tools

Vasquez was arraigned at the Schaghticoke Town Court before being remanded to the Rensselaer County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 cash or $10,000 bond.
