Bookstore holding grand opening in Upper Arlington

UPPER ARLINGTON, Ohio (WCMH) - A new bookstore in Upper Arlington is holding its grand opening with a lineup of events, activities and more to celebrate.

Storyline Bookshop, at 2108 Tremont Center, is holding its grand opening Saturday. The store is described as an "independent, woman-owned, neighborhood bookshop for all ages," according to its website. The shop is taking over the former location of Brown Shoes, a retail shoe store that closed in April 2023 after 58 years.

The bookstore offers a variety of reads to choose from, along with curated book collections, gifts, events for those who love to read and more. To celebrate its opening, the shop is holding several activities for the community to enjoy.

Events for July 6

  • 10 a.m. Books & Bubbly: Make a mimosa and shop for your next summer read.
  • Noon - Storytime Magic: Storytime and a kid’s magic show with local magician, Magic Nate.
  • 1 p.m. - UA Firefighter Reading: Fire safety storytime and touch-a-truck event with the Upper Arlington Fire Division.

Events on July 7

  • 11 a.m. - Books & Blooms: Build a complimentary bouquet while browsing books with Orchard Lane Flowers.
  • 1 p.m. - Book Signing - Maggie Smith: Meet award-winning poet and author Maggie Smith for an intimate book signing of the paperback release of You Could Make This Place Beautiful.

Storyline Bookshop will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily following its grand opening.
