Fire crews have been called into action after a wildfire started Thursday night in Yakima County.
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Fire crews have been called into action after a wildfire started Thursday night in Yakima County.
The Thorp Road Fire near Union Gap started just after 10:00 p.m. and quickly spread to an estimated 700 acres, officials said.
Due to the proximity to homes and the city, Level 3 Evacuations were quickly put into place. However, these were later reduced to Level 2 for the surrounding areas, with Yakima Valley Emergency Management warning the community to get family and pets ready to leave.
