Albany man charged with Clinton Street stabbing

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- An Albany man was arrested on Thursday following a stabbing investigation, according to police. Jonisaac Nazario, 19, was charged with first-degree assault.

On May 16 around 1 p.m., Albany Police responded to the 100 block of Clinton Street following reports of an assault. Officers arriving at the scene found a 31-year-old man with stab wounds to his back.

Emergency medical personnel tended to the victim before he was transported to Albany Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The ensuing investigation resulted in Nazario being identified as a suspect.

On July 4, officers located Nazario in Washington Park and took him into custody. He was arraigned at the Albany City Criminal Court on Friday morning before being remanded to the Albany County Jail.
