The Prince of Wales and Duke of Sussex have shared a close bond. However, Prince Harry claimed in his recent interviews that they grew apart when their mom Princess Diana died.

Prince Harry has shared many stories about his family, including Prince William, in his memoir Spare. Among the things he mentioned was how the future king reportedly rivaled him in his work.

"Africa was his thing, he said," Prince Harry claimed in his boo, Entertainment Tonight reported. "And he had the right to say this, or felt he did, because he was the Heir."

Meghan Markle's husband claimed that his brother would sometimes flex his veto power over him. Prince Harry admitted that they had a number of real rows.

"It was ever in his power to veto my thing, and he had every intention of exercising, even flexing, that veto power. We had some real rows about it... It was so obvious. He cared less about finding his purpose or passion than about winning his lifelong competition with me."

Prince Harry Speaks About Sibling Rivalry In 60 Minutes Interview

When Prince Harry sat down for an interview with Andrew Cooper for 60 Minutes, the CNN host read an excerpt from his book, the section where he talked about Prince William's "alarming" hair loss and how the Princess of Wales' resemblance to their late mom, Princess Diana, was fading with time.

Cooper commented that what he said was "pretty cutting," but Prince Harry denied it wasn't. The 60 Minutes host pointed out how the book gives the impression that they have lived separate lives after their mother's death despite the media portraying them as loving brothers growing up."Sibling rivalry," Prince Harry said.

During the interview, Prince Harry mentioned how Prince William advised him that they pretend they don't know each at school. He admitted it hurt at times.

"I couldn't make sense of it," Harry told Cooper.

"I was like, 'What do you mean? We're now at the same school. Like, I haven't seen you for ages, now we get to hang out together.' He's like, 'No, no, no, when we're at school, we don't know each other.' And I took that personally."

"Like, we had a very similar traumatic experience, and then we-- we dealt with it two very different ways," added Prince Harry.

The Duke of Sussex was only 12, while the Princess of Wales was 15 when Princess Diana was killed in a car crash in 1997.

Prince William's younger brother spoke fondly of his wife and late mom in his Netflix docuseries. According to him, both were warm.

"So much of what Meghan is and how she is, is so similar to my mom," Prince Harry said in the documentary.

"She has the same compassion, she has the same empathy, she has the same confidence. She has this warmth about her."

Body language expert Bruce Durham weighed in on Prince Harry's statement and what he observed in Markle and Princess Diana. "One bit of conflict when it comes to Diana and Meghan [is that] Diana was known for proactively, strongly, trying to get her and the kids out of the limelight and away from the cameras," Durham said. "Whereas Meghan on this one aspect seems to be the total opposite."

He noted that Markle is an actor and is "used to the limelight." However, Princess Diana reportedly kept herself away from the cameras as much as possible.

"When you look at that one aspect of the difference between Diana and Meghan, they couldn't be more poles apart," he added.

Is Prince Harry Wrong In Saying Meghan Markle And Princess Diana Are Similar?

Royal expert Kinsey Schofield, host of the To Di For Daily podcast and author of R is for Revenge, echoed Durham's sentiment. For her, they aren't similar because "there is very little" of Princess Diana in Markle."I see very little of Princess Diana in Meghan's latest efforts," she told Fox News Digital. "What we loved about Diana was seeing her with people. Holding children. Laughing with the elderly. The empathy and compassion written all over her body."

"Diana wouldn't have taken photographers or a camera crew with her to Uvalde. Everything Meghan does seem superficial and lacks depth and warmth."

British journalist and investigative reporter Tom Bower also claimed in his book Revenge that even Princess Diana's siblings didn't see any similarities between Princess Diana and Markle when Prince Harry introduced his wife to them.

"By then, Harry had introduced Meghan to Diana's two sisters, [Lady Jane Fellowes and Lady Sarah McCorquodale], and her best friend Julia Samuel," Bower wrote.

"He was disappointed. No one agreed that his vulnerable mother had anything in common with his girlfriend. More discomforting for him, they thought Meghan would not fit in with the Royal Family."

"The Royal Family do not intend to respond to the allegations in Harry's memoir. However, their hand may be forced, it's too early to tell," he told Express.

"The sheer outrageousness of the claims and the malign nature of the memoir will harm the Royal Family though a great many may wonder how rational Harry is. King Charles will hope the strategy of silence is sustainable. The Coronation is in May and will be magnificent and royal tours will undoubtedly be announced too."

King Charles Could Resort To 'Nuclear Option' Against Prince Harry And Meghan Markle

If their silence will not be enough, Fitzwilliams warned Prince Harry and Meghan Markle of the King's "nuclear option" to effectively deal with the exploding situation.

"Harry and Meghan are royals who have gone rogue. There is no way the Palace can go point by point through the allegations," he said about the couple.

Prince Harry told Andrew Cooper in 60 Minutes that they have no intention to renounce their royal titles because he didn't think it would make a difference. However, many felt that they just don't want to let go of it because they could allegedly use it for money.

"That's a quick retort by Harry. Truthfully, he does not want to renounce his title as duke. Harry is scared s---less right now," one person claimed.

"The single reason - she thought [they] could make money out [of] it," a different person alleged.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry was allegedly written out of King Charles' coronation script. He Will no longer play a role in his father's big day following the release of his book Spare, according to royal correspondent Roya Nikkhah.

"I can also reveal that Prince Harry has been written out of the script for the Coronation, with no official role in the service if he attends," she tweeted. "Breaking with tradition, Charles will scrap royal dukes kneeling and paying homage to the monarch. Only William will perform that role."
